Special Category PDF Print E-mail

For the financial year 2010/11 (6April - 5 April) the Directors have chosen the special category of Supporting Families in Poverty.

In the past special categories have been as follows : 2007/08 Extra-curricular training for those aged 16 and under, 2008/09 Respite Support for Carers of the Elderly or those Incapacitated, and in 2009/10 it is Projects and/or training that encourage artisan skills e.g. sculpture, printing, thatching, weaving etc.

Change of Policy; Proactive Grant-Making (Applications by Invitation Only).

In the recent past, Registered Charities with a project or ongoing work relating to the annual special category, have been encouraged to apply for a grant. However, this has led to the Trust being inundated with applications. A new initiative was piloted in the 2008/09 financial year and will continue for the foreseeable future.

From the financial year 2008/09 grants will be provided only to those organisations which have been invited to apply.

Unsolicited applications will not be considered
